Hello World!

Hello World!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! I hope you all had a chance to wear green, eat corned beef and cabbage and kiss your favorite Irish person (luckily I married one so it’s all good!). Today marked another reason to celebrate (other than the holiday). Today, my best friends Mikey and Liz Worden welcomed into the world their second daughter, Lexie Patricia Blake. The neat thing about this birth is that it’s not the first time Liz has given birth on…

Surprise!

Surprise!

Last Sunday we celebrated a birthday. Oddly enough, it was Jasen’s actual birthday, but we ended up celebrating Mikey’s birthday. Yay Mikey! Mikey’s birthday isn’t until Friday, but to surprise him his family picked a day that he wouldn’t know about which was conveniently Jasen’s birthday. Now my only part in the surprise was to get him to the secret location at the secret time. This part was easy since Mikey normally comes to my house on Sunday nights and…

And Aloha Means Goodbye…Again

And Aloha Means Goodbye…Again

One of the joys of my job is getting to meet new people. Many times new people soon become new friends and as someone once told me, “friends are the spice of life”. Funny, I always thought variety was the spice of life, but maybe I’m just getting my cliches mixed up. Anyway, a few years ago, I happened to meet a nice Navy couple from Texas that just started coming to church. They came to one activity (a board…

craftsteak

One of the great joys of traveling is trying out different restaurants that you wouldn’t normally have a chance to try out in Hawaii. Keao and I watch a lot of reality TV and so we’ve had the chance to eat at a few celebrity chefs’ restaurants. During this trip to Las Vegas we decided to splurge (we don’t normally eat at such fancy places) and try out Tom Colicchio’s craftsteak. Tom Colicchio is the head judge of Bravo TV’s…

Then after two years of that I did the college ministry and I also worked on the maintenance crew outside with Uncle Augie (20 hours each). Then, they moved me to the Singles ministry (where I met my wife Keao). Then in addition…

I’m moving to Word Press

I’m moving to Word Press

So I’ve decided to move to word press. I recently got this new blog software that should make created blogs a little easier (so maybe I can blog more often…) but it doesn’t do pictures really well. It does however seem to work well with word press so I’m making the change. Please go to http://pastorscottsthoughts.wordpress.com for further reading pleasure.

Avatar v. Pocahontas

Avatar v. Pocahontas

So after everyone told me how good Avatar was Keao and I finally caved in and saw it. Don’t get me wrong, I did want to see it and we probably would have seen it anyway regardless of whether it was recommended or not. It’s just that everyone was recommending it so much I got a little wary (similar to how everyone raved about the first Pirates of the Caribbean). After seeing it in 3-D (or at least I think…
