My continuing saga of God’s sense of humor

My continuing saga of God’s sense of humor

So anyway, we need to write a paper for every class that we miss and therefore I wasn’t too thrilled about missing all those classes. However, a month ago, we planned an Ignite leaders outing for dinner. But wouldn’t you know, it was on a Tuesday night, a normal class night. Since I already have to miss every Thursday, I didn’t even want to go eat dinner with my leaders. However, I felt that I should suck it up and…

A continuation of God’s sense of humor

A continuation of God’s sense of humor

So, where was I, oh yes, we were walking out of Buca di Beppo and everyone decided that they wanted to go to Coldstone. But before I go on, this won’t be funny unless you understand the circumstance in which I ate dinner and a little background information. I normally go to Bible College three nights of the week. However, due to a change in leadership, I need to miss Thursday nights for the rest of the semester. This sucks…

God’s sense of humor

God’s sense of humor

So last night all of the Ignite leaders went to dinner at Buca di Beppo. It was the first time I had ever been there and it was loads of fun. We ordered 3 dishes between the 6 of us and we still had leftovers. Plus, it came out to only like $10 a head so the prices were great. The only really interesting thing that happened during the dinner hour occurred in the men’s room of all places. I…

An update

An update

Sorry, here’s an update of a previous reference. The “author of confusion” scripture is “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints” (1 Corinthians 14:33).

When the self-proclaimed “comment whore” is updating his journal more than I am it becomes necessary for me to keep up with him. So here’s a quick update on my life… Right now things are going well. My plate’s a bit full with the happenings in ministry, but that’s okay, God has a plan for me (although sometimes I wish He would clue me in). My nights just got a little busier since I now need to be present at…

Communication breakdowns

Communication breakdowns

So today well fairly well. I was supposed to play golf with the Ark guys at 6:30am, but I couldn’t wake up so I then proceeded to sleep in until 10:30. That was actually really good because I needed the rest. My day was starting out fine. I had to go to a suprise 50th birthday party for Rob, one of the pastors at my church. Again, everything was going well. The party was fine and I got to see…

Canned!

Canned!

Well, that was quick. After doing all that preparing I found out this afternoon that I was canned. I was supposed to open the Christian Life Development Discipleship class, but due to a lack of enrollment our class was cancelled. Ahhh, such is life. It’s a good thing that I didn’t really do much to prepare or I would have been much more upset. On a brighter note, I just had my first performance review and I did well on…

Just got back from golf

Just got back from golf

Got to play nine holes at Kahuku Golf Course with my friends Kala and Derrick. I got to see Eleanor for the first time in like 8 months. I really missed her. Too bad I don’t get to go to Kahuku more often. Anyway, I did pretty well. I only hit one green in regulation (which I promptly birdied), but I still had three other pars and I missed a two foot putt for par on another hole, so all…
